Coal-fired power plants have become a symbol of green gas emissions: Mankind burns up to 10 million tons of crude oil a day, 12.5 million tons of hard coal and 7.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas.




A solar panel facility in the German state of Bavaria near the towns of Kaufbeuren and Ostallgäu. The Solarpark Kaufbeuren is one of the world's largest photovoltaic systems.



Turning away from fossil energy is on the agenda if humans want to continue their triumphant advance on the earth. This offshore wind park on the Danish island Lolland produces 170 megawatts of electricity.
